Chino Hills had the firepower and Long Beach Poly has the history. Poly did a great job at keeping the pace of the game at their liking instead of falling into the trap of trying to play Chino Hills run n gun style. The game was close throughout and Poly led most of the game but by small margins. The first quarter ended with Poly up 23-19. In the second quarter with 7 minutes to go Dre Ball picked up his 4th foul and with 3:06 Gelo Ball picked up his 3rd foul. The risk of of leaving Gelo in the game was overlooked and Chino Hills left scrappy first half with a 44-43 lead on Melo Ball's Deep 3 seconds before it ended. Elizjah Scott was the difference in keeping the game close throughout as he led all scorers after the first half with 18 points while the ball brothers combined for 18. For Long Beach Poly it was a team effort as 4 players nearly had double figures in the first half wih Z. Williams leading with 12. In the second half Chino Hills caught fire and pulled ahead by 5 points before Poly played sound defense and hit big shots. At one point Melo Ball came down and hit a 3 pointer only to have Poly come down and match it. With the game tied 75 all Elizjah Scott got an offensive rebound and found Gelo Ball in the corner. Ball buried the 3-Pointer and Poly's coaches were calling for a travel on the rebound. Upon looking at the footage afterwards, it was clear HC Diggs had a valid point. A last second heave by Poly fell short and Chino Hills won the BattleZone Championship. Melo Ball was named the MVP.
