Last year, a video tribute to Jermaine O’Neal’s frustrating free throw shooting form went viral. If 6’6″ center Chuck Hayes went to the free throw line just half as many times as O’Neal did in his career, the Chuck Wagon would have caused a record number of lane violations with his just as wacky, if not wackier, free throw shooting form.

The oddest thing to me about the shortest center in the league wasn’t his odd free throws or underrated defense but his passing. During the final two months of the 2010/11 season, the undrafted Rocket had five games with 7+ assists, including this triple double.

So in honor of one of the most unique players of the past decade, let’s celebrate his birthday with some throwback clips of him shooting free throws.
