Emoni Bates is considered by many to be the top middle school basketball player in the country. This spring 6'7 14 year old Emoni Bates is leading a formidable Bates Fundamentals 14U squad who normally plays 15U at Nike EYBL.
At MADE Hoops #MidwestMania, Bates' biggest test was Detroit's The Family led by Ty Rodgers. Also considered one of the top players in 2022, Rodgers is a former Bates teammate.
The 2 stars guarded one another and it took overtime to determine the winner.
Bates went on to win the title, but this was the best game of the weekend!
