You saw the jaw dropping dunks by Zach LaVine, you saw the awesome highlights from the Brandblack All-Star game but the best moment from the Seattle Pro Am this past weekend was when the Pro Am staff surprised Jamal Crawford with the Mr. Washington Award for everything he has done for the community. The maximum capacity crowd gave Jamal a standing ovation for everything he's done for his community and for giving them the opportunity to see their favorite NBA players live once again.

It's hard to recall everything Crawford and his foundation have done for the community because he does it so low key and without media hype or online promotion. We know about the $100,000 to renovate his high school gym.  $75,000 to renovate a library at a NYC elementary school and another$50,000 for a library in Renton.  He provides free backpacks filled with school supplies as well as free haircuts and pedicures to boys and girls so they can feel good about themselves on the first day of school.  He has an annual 4th of July Bar-B-Q at Green Lake Park in Seattle. He feeds thousands on Thanksgiving and gives out Christmas trees and gifts when he turns into Jamal Clause on Christmas.

Jamal may not do things for recognition, but it gave us great joy seeing him receive a gift and love in return for all of the love he has shown for others.
