The top Chicago grammar school basketball teams (usually K-8th grade) play a ton of games (50+), including weekend shootouts, conference games, church leagues, during the season,
but many of these games are lopsided blowouts which can be difficult to watch or play in. Each fall, Whitney Young HS coach Slaughter and others bring the “Best of the Best” teams from the Chicagoland area into one gym to compete for a weekend.
The gym is packed as the high school stars of tomorrow get their first chance on a big stage.

Ballislife will continue following the top middle school players and teams this season.
