Chicago Ariel Community Academy Storm 7th-8th grade basketball team's season is off to a great start! The ultra-talented group from the city's South Side
won the annual 32-team Best of the Midwest Classic (presented by jrhoopselite.com) featuring middle school teams from Chicago and across the region.
Led by one of the city's top 8th grade basketball players Jaylen Drane and one of the city's top 7th graders Jalen Griffith, the Storm went 5-0 (all blowouts).
The faced Biedler in the heated title game. A new school on the Chicago basketball scene, point guard Leonte "Lee Lee" Lilly and big-bodied guard Mikwon Jones led Biedler all weekend.
Energetic shot blockers Malaun Greyer and Jeremy Anderson also stood out at both ends for Ariel.
If the name Ariel sounds familiar, Chase Adams and Kezo Brown led Ariel to its first and only basketball city title 4 years ago.
Let's see if Ariel can get back on top?! And let's see if Biedler will contend too!
It's going to be a long, grueling season for both talented teams from Chicago and Ballislife will be watching all season long!
