FAB 50: Final Rankings for 2019-20?

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the nation and causing change in our daily lives, four states were able to conclude their state championships last week which causes movement and brings two newcomers to this week’s FAB 50. Is this the final rankings of the season or will a few selected states be able to complete their season in early April?

It’s another week of upsets and big results, particularly Baltimore clubs St. Frances Academy and Poly pulling off big wins at the East Coast Bump, that change the pecking order of the latest FAB 50. Top ranked clubs beating up on each other makes compiling the FAB 50 more difficult, but also creates excitement and interest as teams position for a possible slot at GEICO Nationals in April!

Newspaper distribution and the Internet created greater interest in national rankings, but in actuality, United States high school basketball rankings began in 1959. Multiple national polls have been compiled for decades including the FAB 50, which is now the longest running weekly national rankings in the country.

Giant-Killer Corona Centennial Takes Tarkanian!

Centennial (Corona, Calif.) uses it four-guard attack to capture the Tarkanian Classic Platinum Division title with a convincing victory over FAB 50 No. 5 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas). The Huskies defeated two other FAB 50 ranked teams en route to the title behind MOP Paris Dawson.
