Hassan Whiteside dominates Clippers w/ 23pts & 16rebs in 29mins
Miami’s Hassan Whiteside came into the game against the Clippers midway through the first quarter and put up 10 points and 6 rebounds in just 6 minutes to help the Heat go on a 24 to 10 run.
“It’s crazy that I’m on a team called the Heat because there’s always been a flame inside me” said Whiteside who had career highs of 23 points and 16 rebounds in 29 minutes. “I always try to come in and just play as hard as I can and keep proving people wrong.”
He also became the first Heat player since Alonzo Mourning in 2001 to put up a 20 & 15 game off the bench.
“We didn’t look at him before, me and 29 other teams,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “He’s playing terrific.”
