Here’s a nice introduction video to Dyckman basketball if you aren’t familiar with the 24-year old tournament that goes down each summer at Monsidgnor Kett Playground aka Dyckman Park in Manhattan.
Everybody from Baron Davis, Metta World Peace, Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert, Brandon Jennings to Tyreke Evans & JR Smith have played on this court. But nobody made more noise there than Kevin Durant when he took on Michael Beasley in 2011, three days after dropping 66 at Rucker and 41 at a Nike Pro City game. Well, actually the “Beasley you aint $#it” fan in the following video made the most noise.
Despite “only” scoring 21 and losing the game, he still tweeted, “Yo Dyckman was too crazy.”
