Pacer’s All-Star Paul George suffered one of the worst looking leg injuries I’ve ever seen during Friday’s USA Basketball Showcase at the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas. With a little more than 9 minutes left in the game, he suffered a right leg, open tibia-fibula fracture. Out of respect for Paul George and his family, Coach K cancelled the rest of the game after the injury.
According to a statement by USA Basketball, George was transferred to Sunrise Hospital in Vegas where he underwent successful surgery to fix the fracture.
He is expected to remain hospitalized for approximately 3 days. Our prayers go out to him and his family and we are wishing him a speedy recovery.
After the incident, many NBA players, writers and analyst took to Twitter to send out their prayers and a few brought up the fact that the stanchion was too close. A couple of hours later, Paul George posted a tweet thanking everybody for their love and support.
