Today, is Game 2 of the first-round WNBA playoffs between the Las Vegas Aces (1-0, 1-0 Home) and the Chicago Sky (0-1, 0-1 Away). The first of three games, Las Vegas, the reigning 2022 WNBA Champions, will look to eliminate the Chicago Sky this afternoon. The Aces defeated the Chicago Sky 87-59 and will get the matchup at home in game 2. With 10 steals as a team, the Aces collectively held Chicago to 33.3 percent field goal and 22.7 percent three-point shooting. For the Sky, Kahleah Copper was the only player to finish with points in double-figures. Not their best shooting night, Las Vegas relied on their defense to secure the victory.

Chelsea Gray O 24 Points and Assists

Season Stats: PPG: 15.5 | FG: 47.4 % | 3 PT: 0 % | FT: 71.5 % | REB: 9.9 | AST: 7.9 | STL: 1.8 | BLK: 0.5

Playoff Stats: PPG: 20 | FG: 46.6 % | 3 PT: 0 % | FT: 100 % | REB:| AST: 7 | STL: 2 | BLK: 2

Chelsea Gray, nicknamed the "point gawd," was sensation in the game 1 victory against the Chicago Sky. In 23 minutes, the guard finished with 20 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals on 7-15 field goal shooting. Along with Gray, the Aces had four additional players with points in double-figures, Wilson, Plum, Young, and Clark. This prop hit six out of the last ten games, and three of the last five.

Why this prop will hit

In three regular season matchups against the Chicago Sky, Gray averaged 20 points, 7 assists, on 57 percent three-point shooting. Over 23.5 points and assists hit two of the three matchups against Chicago, including twice on the road. In home games this season, Gray averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 assists. No. 12 shoots more effectively at home, by a large margin. Through 20 games in Las Vegas, the guard shot 51.5 percent from the field, five points higher than away games, and 46.5 percent from three, nearly 10 percentage points higher than road games. With an elimination game on the line for Chicago, the Aces face the Sky who allowed the second-best field goal percentage (45.1)

With the Las Vegas Aces, their abundance of talent makes it difficult to guard both the weak and strong side of the basketball. Chelsea Gray has a history of playing exceptional in the playoffs, averaging 21.7 points and 7 assists in 2022. With Gray averaging the second most field goal attempts in game 1 (15), I fully expect Chicago to put up a fight, and for No. 12 to play a hefty number of minutes. This prop was hit last matchup, on a night where Vegas could have shot more efficiently. With the Chicago Sky comprised of a three-guard lineup, look for Gray to utilize the screens, the pick and roll, and to use her IQ to make plays.

Las Vegas Aces Money Line

With the Aces money line at -4000, I wouldn't recommend wagering on this unless you have a substantial bank roll. I'm going with this pick, and it's a confident one. With an elimination game at stake, it's difficult to gauge how this game will go as far as the spread. I originally picked the Las Vegas Aces to sweep the Chicago Sky in two, and I am sticking to that today. Unable to find their stride, Chicago shot under 35 percent from both the field and three-point, and several of their starting lineup struggled. Outside of Kahleah Copper, not one start scored points in double-figures, and Marina Mabrey was held to just 7 points.

The Aces won the regular season matchup 3-0, in which the Sky kept the final scores fairly close. However, with the playoffs on the line, the Aces are the superior team, both offensively and defensively. In front of their home fans for the second game in a row, the Aces will matchup today in an arena where they had just one loss, excluding the Commissioner's Cup. Finishing the season strong with four straight wins, Vegas looks to sweep and defeat the Sky this afternoon in front of their home fans.

In three games against Chicago, Vegas averaged 98 points, and shot close to 52 percent from the field. In one regular season home game, the Aces averaged 93 points, and shot 58.5 percent from the field. Through 20 home matchups, this team averaged an incredible 94.4 points per game, 21.9 assists, 8.7 steals, and shot 37.8 percent from the three.
