At 5’6″ Chris Lykes may not be the most intimidating player on the court but you can bet your money he’s play will change your perception. Lykes plays for Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC where he competes in the WCAC. Gonzaga finished 24-10 on the year and 13-5 in conference. The WCAC is considered one of the toughest high school conferences in America, meaning you better bring it each and every night. The junior guard wowed spectators and opponents alike on a nightly basis en route to being named the WCAC Player of the Year. What’s more impressive is that he beat out not one but TWO McDonald’s All Americans for the award. He averaged 22 points, 4.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game this season. He shot 47.3 percent from 3-point range and 74.9 percent from the free-throw line. Considered to be a great leader, Lykes also excels in the classroom (3.8 GPA) & frequently does volunteer work at his local church. Lykes is currently considered a Top 100 player with offers from Notre Dame, Georgetown, and Villanova. Catch Lykes this upcoming AAU season as he’ll be running with Team Takeover on the NIKE EYBL.
