Misunderstood and misused by the Celtics, Wolves, Rockets, Mavs, and Pacers?
Best player ever without 10 full fingers?
Best player to ever play in the D-League?
Most improved?
Best dunker since the days of Vinsanity?
Higher jumper than Vince Carter?
There are a lot of debates you can have about Gerald, but you can't argue that anybody this season has a dunk reel like his. It's so impressive that it even rivals the insanity of Vinsanity from 98-2001. Maybe I'm getting a little carried away. But I am talking about one of the few people in that top tier of the greatest dunkers ever.
And his 2012 alley-oop windmill against the Rockets might be the greatest alley-oop in NBA history.
And his performance in the 2008 NBA Dunk Contest will always be one of my favorites because I watched it in the hospital an hour after my youngest daughter was born. I always told my daughter the (underappreciated) cupcake dunk was for her. And when I told Green this story, he laughed and appreciated it.
And we can end this post with him showing why some call him the rim inspector.
