All eyes are on the former 2022 2nd overall pick, Chet Holmgren tonight.  He missed the entire 2022-2023 campaign due to a right foot injury and has been dominant this summer.  Although Holmgren struggled shooting last game, he has 7 blocks in two games, and is a rebounding machine.  The Thunder also have second year player Jalen Williams, who was selected 12th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Not to be confused with Jaylen Williams. he's balled out in his only appearance this summer.

Williams missed last game due to a hamstring injury, however, he scored 21 points.  In addition, Jalen shot 3-5 from the three, and had 1 block.  Much like Holmgren, he fights his way to the basketball, and can hit from downtown.  In addition, the Thunder have Tre Mann, the former 18th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft. Mann is averaging 24 points, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 5.5 rebounds in two games. Also, he's shooting 41.6 percent from the three, and over 50 percent from the field. Oklahoma City also has Jaylin Williams, a former 34th overall pick in 2022.  The Thunder are loaded with talent, size, and guys that can defend and score.  It's important to note the Thunder split their two games and lost to Memphis with Jalen Williams out.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers split their first two games and are looking get a win tonight against the Thunder.  Rather than one standout player, the 76ers are led by Ricky Council IV, Jaden Springer, Terquavion Smith, Filip Petrusev, and Jalen Smith.  Terquavion Smith is a 2023 undrafted player out of NC State and can shoot the ball.  Perhaps with James Harden's possible departure, Smith could help backup Maxey at the guard position.  We've seen Terquavion Smith shoot a high volume of shots this summer and has excellent movement behind screens.  Smith scored 18 points, on 6-16 shooting in his first game against Memphis.

The Philadelphia 76ers didn't have a 2023 NBA Draft Pick due to the James Harden trade from the Nets.  However, in addition to Terquavion Smith, Philadelphia signed undrafted free agent, Ricky Council IV.  Council IV has yet to have a "breakout" game, however, he's been a contributing factor to this summer lineup.  Council IV stands at 6 foot 6, can grab rebounds, score, although he needs to work on his three-point shot.  Overall, Ricky Council IV is an incredible athlete, who has size and strength.  In his last game against Utah, Ricky contributed in various ways. He scored 14 points, had 5 blocks, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.  In addition, Council IV took a good volume of shots, along with his notorious slams.

In addition to the 2023 undrafted free agents, the 76ers have a veteran presence in big man, Filip Petrusev.  Petrusev was the 50th overall pick in the 2021 draft and could possibly land a roster spot behind Joel Embiid. Petrusev had 10 points and 8 rebounds in 26 minutes against Memphis and has been serviceable for the 76ers.  Jaden Springer, a former 28th overall pick in 2021 has impressed this summer as well.  Springer had 18 points, six steals, and showed his finishing skills. Although he's not a sharpshooter per say, Springer makes the easy buckets count.  Also, Javonte Smith impressed in his only game against the Jazz in which he scored 19 points on 3-6 3-point shooting.  Overall, the 76ers have a young core with promising talent.

Prediction:

I love both of these teams, in which they are full of young talent.  The Thunder have the slight edge due to Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Trey Mann, and Jaylen Williams.  All four of them are second year players, and both Jalen and Jaylen Williams and Tre Mann had playing and starting time in the NBA last season.

Philadelphia is loaded with talent; however, they need time to develop. I expect OKC's experience and size to overwhelm the 76ers tonight.  The Thunder are the most complete summer league, and have multiple NBA established players.

I like OKC Money Line (-175), OVER 184.5, and OKC -4.  Although the 76ers covered the spread the last two games, they have yet to see a lineup like the Thunder.  Philadelphia may be in trouble going against Holmgren, who's 7 foot 1.
