STREETBALL IS ALIVE! PLAYGROUND BRAGGING RIGHTS GAME WAS TOO LIT!

Streetball is Alive in 2020! Basketball culture is STRONG in the Midwest! Chicago might not have much playground basketball these days but this last-minute word of mouth pickup game broke out in nearby Gary, Indiana.

This game (from July 2020) almost looks like a throwback to the 90s when this park had 3 courts running with the best competition in NWI (that's Northwest Indiana). It was Gary versus East Chicago, 2 cities with rich basketball history.

Former recent high school stars playing here included Eugene German (Gary), Creighton's Damien Jefferson (EC) and South Carolina's Jermaine Couisnard (EC).

Thanks to Mario Bravo (@WEGOTNEXTHOOPS1) for the footage!

According to Mario, this game at Tolleston Park on 15th Ave in Gary's Bottomside neighborhood, was organized by AJ Johnson and Chris Yarbough from Gary, Indiana's basketball community.
