Undefeated MMA Fighter James Johnson Jumps Over Hurt Whiteside To Tussle With A Prince

I wonder if Taureen Prince knows James Johnson is a black belt with a 20-0 record in kickboxing matches (7-0 in MMA)?

The Hawks rookie almost found out about JJ's fighting skills midway through the 4th quarter of the Miami Heat's 9th(!!) straight win, after Prince threw Hassan Whiteside to the ground. Johnson came running from the 3-point line, then leaped over the motionless body of Whiteside to collide with Prince (that sounded so much more exciting than how it really looked). The refs quickly separated the two and once the dust was clear and Whiteside came back from the dead, both Johnson and Prince were ejected and Dion Waiters was given a tech...just because it doesn't make sense how great he's been playing in the past week.

Johnson also had an impressive 16 points, 3 assists and 3 blocks in 23 minutes off the bench. Unless you are a Heat fan you probably aren't aware of Johnson's recent numbers but he's been a big factor in their last four wins.

  • Hawks: 16 points, 3 assists, 3 blocks (7-13 fg)
  • Nets: 17 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals (2-3 3pt)
  • Pistons: 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals (7-13 fg)
  • Bulls: 6 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists (couldn't shoot for $#it with 3-15 fg)
