On Episode 175 of Ballislife's "In The Paint Show", ITP hosts Ronnie Flores, Ani Umana and Chelsea Hopkins go hard on the holiday tournaments they attended, from the Tarkanian Classic, City of Palms, Les Schwab Invitational, The Classic at Damien, and Torrey Pines Holiday Classic. The ITP Crew break down the top teams in their FAB 50 spotlight and highlight stock risers and top 2027s on the come up.
Before the ITP Crew gets into the high school hoops breakdown, they give their instant reaction to the college football bowl game fallout, as players across the board opted out. They also give their quick analysis of Washington's and Michigan's playoff semifinal victories and if the committee made the right choices in the aftermath.
Chelsea dishes on USC's JuJu Watkins and the recent sellout between USC and UCLA, which is a good sign for WNCAA basketball. Is JuJu Watkins the next big thing in women's hoops? Should she have the option to turn pro after this season? Ani and Chelsea go hard on opposite ends of the debate!
The ITP Crew also dish on the Detroit Pistons' historic losing streak, which was eventually snapped after 28 games. Ani and Chelsea break down how and why a streak like that goes on and why they feel Detroit's talent is not reflected in its current 3-30 record. Chelsea also break downs what a losing streak/feels is like from the perspective of a pro player and ani from a scholastic coach.
The ITP Crew end the its first podcast of 2024 with the breakdown of the holiday tournaments, including the 50th anniversary of the City of Palms? Which is the best FAB 50 ranked team that could give No. 1 Montverde Academy a run for its money? Ron runs down Clark Francis' Top 10 of his 50 greatest players in the event's history.
Ani dishes on his top four 2024s and why Jayden Harper of FAB 50 ranked Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) is a bonafide No. 1 prospect candidate. Ani and Ron and shout out break-out performers and 2027s from the holiday events they attended. Ron also breaks down event championships for St. Pius X-St. Matthias (Downey, Calif.), Roosevelt (Eastvale, Calif.) and Carlsbad (Calif.).
