Under the radar no more: 6’1 Jevon Carter from Proviso East HS (Maywood, IL) is poised to have a breakout junior season.
There are high hopes for this season’s Proviso East Pirates squad currently ranked #13 nationally by Maxpreps’ preseason poll. Last season, senior point guard Keith Carter (see last season’s ballislife mixtape) led the Pirates to an undefeated regular season and a trip downstate to the Illinois state championship game.
During this fall’s preseason, Keith's cousin, sweet-shooting 6ft1 2-guard Jevon Carter has burst onto the Chicago hoops scene as a junior with his high motor and scoring abilities. He’s quick. He gets to the rim and he finishes. At the recent Mac Irvin Fire Back to School Jam (Riverside-Brookfield HS) and NBU Fall League (Whitney Young HS), Jevon Carter was scoring in bunches.
Carter currently holds offers from Kent State, Mercer and Illinois State, but expect the list to grow.
