For the 2nd consecutive season, the Spurs' Kawhi Leonard won the Defensive Player of the Year award. An award win Lance Stephenson probably wont argue against considering how pissed he got in the above clip showing Lance trying to get the ball in game 1 with Kawhi on him.
Lance did finish the game with 14 points off the bench but the Spurs came away with an easy (too easy) 106-74 victory behind a team-high 20 points, 4 steals and 3 blocks in just 20 minutes from Leonard and his big paws.
It's because of those type of numbers and plays like the one on Lance, Leonard received 84 first place votes while runner-up Draymond Green had 44 and Hassan Whiteside only had 2. It's also the reason why some, including former Spur Robert Horry, think Leonard should win MVP instead of all O/no D Steph Curry.
