You can say what you want about the competition LiAngelo Ball faced in high school and what he’s facing now in Lithuania, but 72 is 72!

Do you know how tiring it is just getting off enough shots to reach 70?

In Gelo’s latest case, the answer is 51! Yes, Gelo attempted 51 shots for BC Vytautas in the latest Big Baller Brand Challenge. The middle Ball Brother made 31 of them to tie his high school career high of 72 points, which is two more than what LaVar Ball said he wanted his team to win by during an amusing pre-game speech. He also grabbed 11 boards, dished out 6 assists, and declared for the upcoming NBA Draft.

“I’m just going to be excited to play on any NBA team.” Said Gelo. “Whoever picks me up, I’m going to play my hardest for them and try to bring wins to the team.”

REACTIONS TO GELO’S DECISION

As expected, the biggest media outlets jumped on the story and all of the talking heads agreed that Gelo  was not going to be drafted, regardless of how many 70-point games he has in Lithuania.

DID GELO MAKE THE NBA?

Since I’m able to see the future (in the form of updating an old article in the future), I can tell you that Gelo did indeed go undrafted. However, he did score 16 points (5/8 3PT) in 16 minutes in an NBA Summer League game, had 22 points in his G League debut, and put on a show at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game…as a rapper with one of the biggest hits of the year. I’m dead serious.

THE NUMBERS

  • High school: 72 PTS
  • Lithuania: 72 PTS
  • JBA: 58 PTS (11 3PT)
  • JBA Championship: 58 PTS
  • Drew League: 52 PTS
  • NBA G League Debut: 22 PTS
  • NBA Summer League: 16 PTS
  • Rapper: $13M Deal

72 IN HIGH SCHOOL

The craziest thing about this 72-point performance is it came a day after scoring 56 and two weeks before a 65-point one.
