Giving back to Northeast Ohio, Garfield Heights High School coach Sonny Johnson put together his annual NEO Youth Elite College Coaches Showcase. The former Ohio Mr. Basketball and overseas pro, along with many other coaches in the Cleveland area, collect the top unsigned seniors in the city and give them the platform to showcase their talents in front of the vast array of colleges that Ohio and the bordering states have to offer.
While D-1 programs are unable to attend due to NCAA bylaws, D-2, D-3, NAIA, and Junior Colleges were permitted to attend and it was worthwhile for both players and coaches. Over 30 different colleges were in the building at the NEO College Coaches Showcase and scholarships were certainly earned at various levels.
Here were the standouts from the 2025 NEO Youth Elite College Coaches Showcase:

Anthony Chavers, 6’5, SG/SF, Canton McKinley (OH), 2026
As far as the NEO Youth Elite Showcase was concerned, there wasn’t anyone who was more unstoppable once they started going downhill than Canton McKinley senior Anthony Chavers. Chavers is an elite finisher in transition, has an explosive first step when attacking the rack, and showed a reliable 3-point shot with his feet set. While he has already began taking college visits, Chavers is still wide open in terms of his recruitment.
Devin Hardwick, 6’4, SG, Brooklyn HS (OH), 2026
The best natural scorer of the NEO Youth Elite Showcase was Devin Hardwick, a lanky combo guard who finished second in the state of Ohio in scoring last year as a junior. Hardwick is able to create his own shot off the dribble, can finish with creativity at the rack, and shoots it well enough from deep to keep you honest. Despite his ridiculous scoring numbers, the senior still remains one of the Midwest’s biggest sleepers if you are looking for a straight bucket getter.
DeCarlo Prince, 6’3, PG/SG, Akron St. Vincent St Mary (OH), 2026
Next up out of Akron power St. Vincent St. Mary is DeCarlo Prince. The combo guard is totally capable of playing either backcourt spot, plays the game at his own speed, and can kill you from 3-point range. A model of consistency, Prince holds mid-major offers, but is still open with the recruiting process.
Zachariah Belcher, 6’9, C, Garfield Heights HS (OH), 2026
The most intriguing big man that the event had to offer was Zachariah Belser, an Indiana native who recently made the move to Cleveland. Belcher was elite running the floor, was an above the rim finisher, and made some tough catches/finishes in pick and roll play. Belcher certainly needs refinement in his offensive skill set, but all of the tools and raw talent is there for a developmental D-1 big man prospect.
Greg Price, 6’2, PG/SG, Hawken HS (OH), 2026
Built like a Big Ten linebacker, Greg Price was one of the more powerful guards the showcase brought to the table. A big time shot maker, Price was one of the best 3-point shooters in Cleveland, needed minimal space to get his shot off, and had no problem getting buckets in tight spaces against bigger defenders. The package of strength and pure shooting stroke make Price one of the better unsigned seniors in the Cleveland area.
Rayshawn Hamilton, 6’5, SG, Akron Garfield (OH), 2026
The reigning Akron Player of The Year showed that he could hold his own with Cleveland’s finest at the NEO Youth Elite Showcase. Rayshawn Hamilton is a long shooting guard who can create for himself, has deep range, and is super unselfish as a scorer. Hamilton combination of positional size and ability to create for himself/others make him one of the area’s more intriguing seniors left on the board.
Finn Walsh, 6’10, C, Andrews Osborne Academy (OH), 2026
The biggest player the Showcase had to offer made his presence felt despite the up and down play in events of this nature. At every bit of 6-foot-10, Walsh carves out space on the paint, has nice touch around the rim, and exhibited solid footwork in our limited sample size with him. Walsh has enough intriguing traits that D-1 schools have (and will continue to) take notice.
