The Pangos Frosh/Soph Camp circuit has come to an end. With stops in L.A., Dallas, Chicago and Dallas complete, the tour showcasing the nation’s best for 2028 and beyond concluded in Philadelphia. Held just across the border at the gorgeous NBN Academy in Wilmington, Delaware, the 2025 All East Frosh/Soph Camp delivered no shortage of size and even drew stars out.
Philadelphia 76ers All-Star and Pangos alum Tyrese Maxey was in the building just after a game the night prior, and it was easy to see why. Event founder Dinos Trigonis brought in talent from 16 states and Canada, assembling a loaded field that blended size, refined skill, and a few remarkably talented middle schoolers under one roof.
With past alums such as Kyle Anderson, Jonathan Kuminga, Derrick Jones, and Cole Anthony at the All-East camp, you’re bound to see NBA players coming out of each year’s rendition. Prime, Athlete AI, and Spalding all jumped on board as title sponsors to align with one of the premier independent events in the country that has hosted future NBA talent.
We have already covered the top overall performers, the top 2029/2030 prospects, and the best of the rest for 2028 from the 2025 Pangos All East Frosh/Soph Camp, so we wanted to take a look at the camp’s stock-risers:
Brandon Bird, 6’4, SG, Cardinal Hayes (New York), 2028
The MVP of the Pangos All East Top-60 game worked his way into the Cream of The Crop Top-30 game and more than held his own. The super long two-way guard is able to create off of the dribble, used his broad shoulders to finish through contact at the rack, and was a versatile perimeter defender. Still a bit under the radar, Bird has the physical gifts and talent to make him a prospect you’ll hear about coming out of NYC.
Azjuan “Mikey” Matthews, 6’7, SF/PF, DME Academy (Florida), 2028
An absolute joy to watch, “Mikey” Matthews brought a package of raw talent, motor, and athleticism that made him an immediate impact player at Pangos All East. The lefty was an insane defender from the forward position, got a number of easy buckets via cuts or offensive rebounds, and applied his athleticism on both ends of the floor. The Delaware native made the move to DME for this upcoming season where he hopes to follow in Mikel Brown Jr.’s footsteps as the next big time prospect out of the program.
Marque Johnson, 6’5, SF, Life Center Academy (New Jersey), 2028
A power wing, Marque Johnson physically punished the bulk of the younger swingmen that were put in front of him at Pangos All East Frosh/Soph Camp. He played through contact in the paint, got to the rack via a flurry of straight line drives, and utilized his size for a perimeter player on both ends of the floor. The bouncy forward gained some experience in the EYBL this past season with the Rens, which should only prepare him for a monster sophomore campaign.
Xavier Griffith, 6’2, PG, Denis Morris (Canada), 2028
A model of productivity, Xavier Griffith had near 20 points virtually every time that you looked at the box scores at Pangos All East. The scoring point guard was an elite finisher above the rim, was constantly in attack mode, and was able to get into the paint at will. Still flying under the radar north of the border, Xavier Griffith showed that he could hold his own with the best that the lower 48 had to offer at Pangos.
Aven Diamond, 6’3, PG/SG, The Pennington School (New Jersey), 2028
One of my favorite players to watch throughout the Pangos All East Frosh/Soph Camp was Aven Diamond, a talented combo guard. The sophomore did an outstanding job of pushing the rock up the floor, drew a ton of fouls and was a special finisher at the rack in transition. Diamond had the highlight of the camp with a ridiculous poster dunk and was a part of a super talented Delaware WeR1 15U squad that ran on the Under Armour circuit this past year.
Joseph Taylor, 6’5, SG, Dover HS (Delaware), 2028
All arms and legs, Joseph Taylor was one of those talented wings who you look at and know he’s nowhere near done growing. The lanky swingman showed the ability to create off the bounce, used his length to provide a presence on the defensive end, and finished over the top of others in the paint. While he’s far from a finished product right now, Taylor is definitely a name you could see exploding over the coming years.
