Tyler Beard is no doubt one of the most physically gifted 14 year old basketball players in the Chicago area these days. But 6'1 Beard is also keeping the art of the Point guard alive by consistently sharing the ball with his open teammates. With quiet confidence, Tyler slashes to the rim at will and blocks opponents shots from behind.
He utilizes his unique athleticism and explosiveness and displays a high basketball IQ for such a young player. This combination made him nearly unstoppable against his peers (in middle school).
While it's still a limited sample size, Tyler Beard's basketball potential is very high.
Check out these highlights from Tyler's 8th grade season (age 13-14) at Lindop Elementary near Chicago in his first Official Ballislife Mixtape.
Next fall Tyler will enroll at Whitney Young HS in Chicago where Philadelphia 76ers Jahlil Okafor helped the Dolphins win the 2014 Illinois basketball state title.
At the time of posting this (summer 2016), Beard is still unknown in Chicago basketball circles as he's yet to enter high school. We expect that to change quickly as players, coaches, fans and media catch on...
Be sure to follow Tyler's journey through high school on Ballislife.com. Currently, Tyler plays AAU with Meanstreets 14U.
