This weekend I spent my time in Bryan, Texas evaluating the Adidas 3SSB circuit. It was a compilation of good talent in all classes. Let’s start out or coverage with the 2027 standouts from this past weekend.
Playing Up 17U
Josh Leonard, 6’6 - SF - Upward Stars
Downhill wing with a strong frame. Very good in transition, completing fast-break plays. An above-the-rim finisher who can defend three different positions. Very good athlete who consistently plays to his strengths. Showed why he’s a top 10 talent in the country in 2027.
Martay Barnes, 6’2 - PG - Austin Rivers Southeast Elite
A bucket getter that gets to the rim with straight speed, changing speeds, and hesitation dribbles. Adequate pull-up shooter who’s an aggressive driver who puts constant pressure on the defense. Impressed with how he’s able to create separation and score in isolation.
Chase Richardson, 6’2 PG - TJ Ford Elite
Crafty combo that’s a good vertical athlete. I thought he got more comfortable embracing physicality and was more confident in his decision-making each game. A promising guard prospect who scored it coming off screens and in spot-up situations.
Kuany Kuoth, 7’0 C - New World
He’s raw, but he plays hard, 7-foot and is active as a rim protector. As he gets stronger and adjusts to the speed and physicality of this level, he will make his presence felt more.
16U Standouts
Nasir Anderson, 6’2 PG - Game Elite
Explosive, lefty guard that was arguably the best 2027 performer this weekend. Plays with a mean streak and puts constant pressure on the defense. Not just a downhill scorer, but also a downhill play-maker and overall high-quality passer in general. Shifty off the dribble, has an advanced touch as a finisher, and a variety of push shots/floaters.

Jordan Page, 6’5 Guard - Garner Road
An athletic, lefty, power guard that’s a physical driver. Executed on pull-up jumpers and was effective as a decision maker coming off ball-screens. Liked how he got his teammates involved and found the open man when the defense gravitated heavily to him.
Shawn Foster, 6’2 PG - Phenom United
Highly skilled point guard with good feel for the game. Saw him make high-level cross-court passes, thread the needle coming off ball-screens, and utilize craft to get to his spots and score.
Kmajay Jenkins, 6’6 SF - Atlanta Celtics
An athletic wing with good arm length. Attacked well with either hand and made athletic plays by either jumping off one or two feet. Effective as a cutter, a slasher, and a team defender. Impressed with his overall versatility.
Keyshawn Herring, 6’2 PG - Team Loaded South
Plus athlete that’s a downhill force. Rebounded well as a guard, which subsequently led to many fastbreak opportunities. High energy, good one-foot athlete that keeps his foot on the gas.
Jalen Brown, 6’4 PG - Power 5
A point guard with good positional size, and equipped with a good basketball frame. Showed the ability to run a team and is a dependable threat as a shooter off the catch as well. Holds a tight handle and is a quality live-dribble passer.
Kyan Franklin, 6’5 SF - Arkansas Hawks
Active on both ends. I saw Kyan impact games with his athleticism and energy. He also was blocking shots when guarding on-ball and help side. Good offensive rebounding instincts and offensively got to the rim or stopped on a dime for the pull-up.
Avery Moses, 6’4 SG - Southern Assault
Was in attack mode this weekend. A big guard with a strong frame. Pull-up shooter that was also efficient from three and embraced contact on drives. I believe he has put himself in the high major prospect tier.
