I spent time last Sunday at Lacore Logistics Gym for the Hoop DFW 60 Camp presented by Charles Campbell. This article isn’t necessarily a top performers or standout list, but more so a quick hitter on guys I evaluated. It’s plenty to cover so let’s dive in.
Camp 2027 Evals
Brayden Williams, 6’3 SG – Faith Family: Was one of my favorite players at the camp and for me it’s because of his feel and overall decision making. Yes, he’s a dependable spot-up threat but more importantly, he gets off the ball quick, makes the right read, constantly moved off the ball and exhibited solid vertical pop off two-feet.
Kyle Amadi, 6’5 Wing – Faith Family: Arguably best scorer at the camp. Assertive bucket getter that can fill the point totals up in bunches. Being a quicker decision maker and better passer will ascend him to another level.
Deuce Hunt, 6’ PG – Duncanville: Contender for best scorer at the camp. Confident south-paw guard that has enough elevation on his jumper to make shots vs. anyone. Improvement in play-making will play a key part in growth, but the effort to be better in that department is noticeably present.
A.J. Burdine, 6’6 SF – Red Oak: One of the better outings I’ve seen him have in a while. Scored it well in spot up situations, either making corner three or attacking closeout. Just played within the flow of offense.
Chaz Wallace, 5’11 PG – RWG: Crafty, aggressive guard that plays with a chip on his shoulder.
Cadarian Urune, 6’4 SG – Allen: Advanced built, talented, defensive guard with improved offensive game. Shot selection in stretches was questionable and the volume of attempts was more than he needed to put up. On the bright side, shot mechanics are cleaner, he’s grown a little bit height wise, but he needs to play within his strengths and make open shots and that’ll get him where he wants to be.
Jeremiah Thirdkill, 6’4 SG – Crowley: High motor guard-wing that rebounded well for position and made shots off the bounce.
Steve McCleod, 6’8 C/PF – Grand Prairie: Keeps being productive each time I’ve seen him for the last three months.
Armani Green, 6’4 SG – Arlington Seguin: A walking paint touch as a two-guard.
Elijah Paez, 6’5 Wing – Brock: Attacking wing that scores it well in transition on pull-ups and finishes at the rim.
Lance Williams, 6’10 PF – Texas Storm: Super talented forward with fluid perimeter skills that are rare for someone at 6’10. Controlling his emotions will play a vital role in Williams reaching his ceiling.
Parker Bolden, 6’3 Guard – Ischool: Assertive combo that showed adequate pull-up shooting in the mid-range area.
Romejo Watts, 6’4 SF – Hebron: Efficient and smart two-way wing with a slower winding jumper that goes in at a high clip.
Xander Pruzinsky, 6’8 C/PF – Frisco Memorial: Lob and play finishing artist that’s trying to expand offensive game. Still needs to play within strengths first.
Jonathan Bradley, 6’1 PG – South Oak Cliff: Shifty guard with outlier finishing abilities.
Johnny Green, 6’5 SG/SF – Grace Prep: Energetic wing that’s an adequate glue guy.
Roman Dulin, 5’11 PG – Mansfield LakeRidge: Small framed but fearless pg that’s a gamer.
Camp 2028 Evals
M.J. Boyd, 6’2 PG – Grace Prep: Bruising guard with long arms that was one of the best overall performers at the camp. Plenty better since this time last year.
Josiah Rose, 6’4 Guard – Faith Family: Well rounded south-paw guard equipped with plus wingspan.
Dylan Steffe, 6’1 PG – Frisco Memorial: Pass first pg that constantly surveys floor. Big year for him to develop leadership skills.
Jovan Reed, 6’3 Wing – Mesquite Horn: Athletic, wild energetic wing that looked to throw it down at any opportunity.
Sutter Weschler, 6’0 SG – Parish Epischopal: Sturdy built floor spacer that can connect shots from deep.
Marcellus Luster, 6’3 SG – Denton Guyer: Multi-faceted shooter that holds deep range on jumper.
Christian McFagdon, 6’2 CG – Allen: Speaking of shooting, this marksman showed improvement in self-creation skills. Better in spot-up situations, but showing improvement on ball-skills.
Cayden Perry, 6’5 SF – South Grand Prairie: Live-body, athletic wing that’s everywhere on the court.
Luckie Harbert, 6’7 PF – Duncanville: Skilled, stretch 4 that still has the baby fat on him. His skill and feel is impressive for someone his age.
Langston Cordova Giles, 6’ PG – Duncanville: Developing framed PG that you can plug and play with anybody honestly. He’s a late bloomer. Will be talked about more when he gets older.
D.J. Daniel, 6’8 C – Mesquite: Strong framed big-man that’s has improved overall. Doesn’t get off the ground fast when elevating, but that’s ok because he plays hard and gives his all on the court.

Camp 2029 Evals
Felix Okam, Alex Alexander Popped
With all the D1 prospects in attendance, I felt two of the three players with the highest ceilings were 2029s Felix Okam (Grand Prairie HS) and Alex Alexander (Mesquite HS). Felix is a long-armed 6’7ish-6’8 forward with an outlier motor. Runs the floor hard each possession, creates second and third chance opportunities for his team and flashed the jump shooting, knocking them down when open. Okam’s shot mechanics are on the slower side, but the touch is real. How well he covers ground will be an asset for him on the defensive end as well. Nobody in my opinion played harder than him at the camp.
Alexander is a 6’9 forward that has tremendous burst. Talk about covering ground, the play that stood out to me the most was he was at half court (for context, the courts were smaller) and he caught up to someone that had the ball inside the arc, looking to attempt a layup. His speed is incredible, has a muscular frame, adequate vertical pop, plus arm length and holds promising touch and skill. Him and Felix are a must watch when you are in the DFW.
Joseph Creal III, 6’5 Wing – Mansfield Summit: Big guard-wing that made shots from deep with consistency. When motor is turned on, he can make presence felt in games.
Ayden McClinton, 6’ CG – Ischool: Talented scoring guard that relies on pull-up shot. He’s going to be really good, but in stretches, he settles for tough looks.
Mike Sorrell, 6’4 Wing – Epischopal School Of Dallas: Maybe the best shooter in the gym. Has an effortless shooting stroke and has grown eight inches in two years. His body is still getting used to the height expansion and it’ll take some time to adjust… although I don’t think he’s done growing. He’s one to seriously keep tabs of.
Kenneth Gabriel Jr, 6’7 SF – Mansfield: Tall wing prospect with legit promise. He has high-end D1 upside.
Demetrius Young Jr, 6’7 Forward – Impact Academy: Spindly combo forward with promising perimeter skills. He really impressed me with his effort and intrigued me with the dosage of skill he displayed.
Vijay Keshaav, 6’3 Guard – Frisco Memorial: Skilled guard with quality positional size for class. Interested to see what position he becomes in the latter part of high school. Smart player with tools.
