When asked about his size, Chase Adams said "the height stuff doesn't mean anything."
Chase Adams (12 years old in the video) had as big a 7th grade season at Chicago's Ariel Elementary Community Academy (Public school) as any player in the city.
As a 7th grader, Adams led Ariel's 8th grade team (not previously known for its basketball team) to a 56-3 record in Chicago's Public League alongside fellow star Marquise "Kezo" Brown. No stats were kept at Ariel, but Chase seemed close to a double double (points/assists) whenever we were watching. Now, as an 8th grader, Adams and Brown will be looking to win the City 8th grade Championship.
Currently 5 feet tall (at the start of 8th grade), weighing about 100 pounds, Adams is the quickest guard in Chicago and is widely considered one of the nation's top players in the Class of 2018. Some young players might be surprised to learn Chase's all-time favorite player is Bob Cousy (Boston Celtics 1950-63). Also, modeling his game after his favorite current point guards Chris Paul, Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo, Adams is poised for success. Not only does Adams model his game after the NBA's top young PG's, he draws inspiration from the way they continue to prove their doubters wrong.
Here are some Chase Adams basketball highlights from Chicago public school Ariel Elementary Community Academy's 2012-2013 season as well as from the Mac Irvin Fire 13U AAU team. Thanks to the players and coaches at Ariel and with the Mac Irvin Fire!
