Congratulations to Rhode Island State Champions Burrillville High School! After a clutch jumper to put them ahead 59-58 with 4 seconds left, they stole the inbound pass from Chariho High, threw the ball in the air and then created a dogpile of players with cheers and tears.
Hold up! The game isn't over? A player on Chariho caught the ball and called a time-out with 1 second left?! You can just guess what happened next...
Chariho executed a perfect game-winning alley-oop at the buzzer and were now the ones celebrating with cheers and tears as Burrillville was reminded why you should never prematurely celebrate - especially in basketball.
Here's video proof of the crazy ending.
And here's a couple of other plays that belong in the high school hall of shame.
