In episode No. 37 of our "In The Paint Show," co-hosts Devin Ugland and Ronnie Flores go hard on the first Pangos Central Cali Showcase and fifth annual Creme of the County that took place over Labor Day weekend. School is back in and we gear up for fall leagues by covering two excellent fall showcases. Who were the standouts? Who had a breakout performance? Why were the kids who attended these events in Bakersfield and San Diego, respectively, so enthusiastic compared to what we sometimes see at SoCal-based showcases?
Ron and Dev also break down the popularity of San Ysidro's Mikey Williams and Sierra Canyon's Bronny James, the former who was one of the top players at the Creme of the County. Will these 2023 prospects eventually surpass the popularity of Melo Ball? Will Sierra Canyon dominate in CIF Southern Section basketball over the next few years the way St. John Bosco and Mater Dei have in football? Is that possible? Is that dominance good for high school sports?
