The Verizon Center was host to last night's DCSAA semifinal game between DC locals, Gonzaga College High and HD Woodson. Coming into the contest, HD Woodson was undefeated and looking to become the first DC high school in over 25 years to go undefeated in the DCISAA. Gonzaga on the otherhand, was playing for the first time since being eliminated from the WCAC semifinals weeks before. The game ultimately decided between two guards, the WCAC Player of the Year, Chris Lykes, and Top 30 Sophomore, Kiyon Boyd. Lykes hit an array of tough shots on his way to 30 points while Boyd simply willed his team to victory doing everything he could to keep them in the game. On this night, Boyd was the better of the two as he finished with 38 points and led HD Woodson to the win. They will face Friendship Charter Sunday in the DCSAA Championship Game.
