Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr. addressed the gossip surrounding his relationship with WNBA All-Star Angel Reese.
Is romantic magic brewing between Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr. and WNBA All-Star Angel Reese?

The former offered a non-committal, if not intriguing, response when questioned about the gossip by the hosts of FanDuel’s web series “Run It Back,” referring to the Chicago Sky’s franchise face as “the homie, for sure” during a Monday appearance on the program.
“We locked in. Y’all going to find out when y’all need to find out,” a beaming Carter told hosts Michelle Beadle, Chandler Parsons, and Lou Williams, who were amused by Carter’s title for Reese. “We’ll just leave it at that. That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure.”

The interior threats have yet to confirm anything romantically but some form of relationship has no doubt formed between them: Reese has been a regular at Magic games since their season tipped last month and Carter donned a shirt bearing Reese’s likeness when he attended the WNBA All-Star Game festivities in Indianapolis over the summer. Before that, Carter was spotted at Reese’s 23rd birthday party held in Chicago in May.
Both Carter and Reese were first round picks of Chicago’s professional basketball franchises: the NBA’s Bulls made Carter the seventh overall choice of the 2017 NBA draft after his single season at Duke while Reese, ironically enough, was the seventh pick of the WNBA’s selections seven years later.
Did Wendell Carter Jr. Just Confirm His Relationship with Angel Reese?
Reese came to the Sky as a 2023 national champion with LSU and one of the yields of a star-studded draft that also featured Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson, and her current Chicago teammate Kamilla Cardoso. Reese has kept busy in two professional seasons since arriving from Baton Rouge, already leading the WNBA in rebounding twice while also winning a championship and a Defensive Player of the Year title with the domestic three-on-three league Unrivaled.

Carter has been stationed in Orlando since a trade in 2021 and inked a $59 million contract extension with the Magic last fall. Through 15 games stationed in Orlando’s starting lineup, Carter is averaging 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting a career-best 53.8 percent from the field.
Following Carter’s comments, Reese watch will likely be in effect for this week’s Magic home games: Orlando (8-7) hosts the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night (7 p.m. ET, FanDuel Sports Florida) before welcoming the New York Knicks on Saturday.
