According to Rebecca Lobo of ESPN, UConn point guard Paige Bueckers announced her plans to enter the 2025 WNBA Draft on Friday.

Paige Bueckers is expected to be drafted as the first overall pick by the Dallas Wings, who hold the top selection.
After the draft lottery in December, Bueckers indicated to ESPN that the Los Angeles Sparks were her preferred destination. Some speculated she might forgo the upcoming draft, indicating Bueckers would play in Unrivaled. That meant she would later declare for the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Throughout her collegiate career with UConn, Bueckers won numerous accolades, including the Associated Press, Naismith College, and USBWA Player of the Year awards in 2021. The Minnesota native additionally won three gold medals while representing the United States National Team at the youth international level.
When Bueckers entered the collegiate level, several big names across women's basketball, including UConn alum Diana Taurasi, labeled her a generational talent. Bueckers is destined to become one of the future faces of women's basketball.
In 34 games this season, Bueckers averaged 19.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. She was also named to AP and USBWA First Team All-American and Big East Player of the Year.
UConn teammate Azzi Fudd, announced her decision to remain with the UConn Huskies for the 2025-26 season. Instead of entering the upcoming WNBA Draft, Fudd gets an opportunity to improve her skills at full health. She averaged 13.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field.
The No. 2 UConn Huskies will take on the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners in a Sweet 16 matchup on Saturday.
