Jeff Teague (34pts & game winner) vs Kyrie Irving (40pts) in Double OT Thriller

Players in this post:
Jeff Teague Kyrie Irving

Jeff Teague has been playing like an All-Star all year long and last night against the much more popular Kyrie Irving, the underrated Teague dished out 14 assists and scored a career-high 34 points which included a shot to put the game into OT and a game winner over Tristan Thompson at the end of double OT.

"They gave me three cracks at it, so I was really happy to finally get it done. It was supposed to be a pick-and-roll at the end, but they switched on us with Thompson, so I just went for it."
-- Hawks point guard Jeff Teague

"Obviously, Jeff Teague made a lot of plays for us, so it was nice for this amazing game to finally be over. The only way it could have been better is if it was a one-point game, so it would've ended either way on his shot."
-- Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer

Irving was spectacular in the loss scoring 40 points including 12 of the Cavs 17 points in the second overtime and delivering an ankle breaker that was so good that Teague had to tweet about it after the game.
