5-star Class of 2016 guard Malik Monk (Bentonville, Arkansas) was named Nike Global Challenge's Tournament MVP. Held at Chicago's Whitney Young HS during the July live period, the nation's top college coaches sat courtside all week watching Monk and many more.
What caught our attention was how the high-scoring shooting guard also flashed some high-level point guard skills throughout the event, playing alongside fellow elite players Alterique Gilbert, Tony Bradley and Maverick Rowan. Leading his USA SOUTH team to the title (120-109), Monk finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists in the final. He averaged 22 points, 6 assists for the tourney.
