Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese made WNBA history Tuesday night, becoming the first player in league history to record multiple double-double streaks of at least 10 consecutive games.

Reese, 23, finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the Sky’s 91-68 loss to the Minnesota Lynx. The performance marked her 10th consecutive double-double, adding to a run that began on June 22 against the Atlanta Dream.
Reese previously set the league record for the longest double-double streak with 15 straight games during her 2024 rookie campaign. She now has 42 double-doubles in just 56 career games, tying two-time MVP Elena Delle Donne, who reached that mark over 241 appearances.
In 22 games this season, Reese is averaging 13.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field. Her career averages through 56 games stand at 13.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
Angel Reese Continues Rising Profile
Reese secured her double-double midway through the fourth quarter Tuesday with a strong drive to the basket. Though the Sky were outmatched by a balanced Lynx offense, Reese again provided reliable production in the paint.
Minnesota (21-4) remained undefeated at home, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride each had 19 points. The Lynx broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago 23-12.
Kamilla Cardoso also recorded a double-double for the Sky with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kia Nurse added 16 points and eight boards. The Sky (7-16) have lost three straight and sit near the bottom of the league standings.
Reese was not present at the Sky’s Thursday shootaround and is listed day-to-day with a back issue. Her status for Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Storm is uncertain, and the team has not indicated the injury is serious. She previously missed a game earlier in July due to a leg injury but returned shortly afterward.

A Young Star With Bigger Goals
Reese, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 draft, averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds as a rookie and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Indiana’s Caitlin Clark. This season, she’s expanded her role and emerged as one of the league’s most consistent rebounders and interior scorers.
She recorded her first career triple-double earlier this summer in a win over Connecticut. Through two seasons, Reese is also averaging 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game, while playing over 32 minutes per contest.
Despite individual accolades, Reese has maintained a focus on team results.
“Winning is what’s most important to me,” Reese said last year after her 15-game streak ended. “I think I’ve done a great job being able to be consistent and being there for my teammates, but wins are most important.”
The Sky return to action Thursday night in Seattle. Reese’s availability will be determined closer to game time.
